Indian River Michigan is a paradise for paddlers
of all skill levels. Miles of scenic rivers
ranging from the slow moving Pigeon River to the
fast water Sturgeon will provide just what you are
looking for. The calm waters of the Pigeon flow
through the Pigeon River Forest and "elk country"
finally ending at Mullett Lake. The Sturgeon River
with a decent of nearly 14 feet per mile is a
Class I-II fast water, the most challenging in the
Lower Peninsula. The Sturgeon River flows
into Burt Lake. |
Indian
River Outfitters offers guided trips into the
Pigeon River wilderness with one and two day trips
available. This is a great experience for all
skill levels and offers the chance to photograph
elk, deer, bear and other wildlife that inhabit
the region. You can also try your luck at trout
fishing. Check out their website for more
