Boating and fishing on Michigan Inland Waterway
The Indian River, the center of Michigan's famed Inland Waterway runs right through downtown Indian River. The waterway gives you access to an enormous body of water consisting of 4 lakes, 3 rivers and access to Lake Huron never leaving the water. You can cruise through two locks, pass the world's smallest swing bridge or sail beneath the Mackinaw bridge. From a raft to a yacht, theres always room to get away on the waterway or just layout on the sandy beaches and sandbars you'll find alone the way.

Indian River into Mullett Lake
The Inland Waterway and surrounding inland lakes offer anglers of most any species endless new waters to explore. Walleye, pike, bass, trout, perch, and even some very nice muskie roam the waterway.  The waterway is well marked with fuel and dining opportunities along the way and Lake Huron and Michigan are great salmon fisheries.
